A capable wife who can find? She is far more precious than jewels. The heart of her husband trusts in her, and he will have no lack of gain. She opens her hand to the poor, and reaches out her hands to the needy. She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue. Her children rise up and call her happy; her husband too, and he praises her: -- Proverbs 31:10-11,20,26,28
O God, who called your servant Margaret to an earthly throne that she might advance your heavenly kingdom, and gave her zeal for your church and love for your people: Mercifully grant that we who commemorate her this day may be fruitful in good works, and attain to the glorious crown of your saints; though Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.
Praise the LORD! Happy are those who fear the LORD, who greatly delight in his commandments. -- Psalm 112:1
1st: Their descendants will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed.
2nd: They rise in the darkness as a light for the upright; they are gracious, merciful, and righteous.
3rd: It is well with those who deal generously and lend, who conduct their affairs with justice.
4th: For the righteous will never be moved; they will be remembered forever.
5th: They are not afraid of evil tidings; their hearts are firm, secure in the LORD.
6th: Their hearts are steady, they will not be afraid; in the end they will look in triumph on their foes.
7th: They have distributed freely, they have given to the poor; their righteousness endures forever; their horn is exalted in honor.
‘The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which someone found and hid; then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field. ‘Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant in search of fine pearls; on finding one pearl of great value, he went and sold all that he had and bought it. ‘Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a net that was thrown into the sea and caught fish of every kind; when it was full, they drew it ashore, sat down, and put the good into baskets but threw out the bad. So it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come out and separate the evil from the righteous and throw them into the furnace of fire, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. ‘Have you understood all this?’ They answered, ‘Yes.’ And he said to them, ‘Therefore every scribe who has been trained for the kingdom of heaven is like the master of a household who brings out of his treasure what is new and what is old.’ -- Matthew 13:44-52
