On the Cross:
"Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth." -- Psalm 46:10
Invitatory Bead:
Dear Saint Cecilia, one thing we know for certain about you is that you became a heroic martyr in fidelity to your divine Bridegroom. We do not know that you were a musician but we are told that you heard Angels sing. Inspire musicians to gladden the hearts of people by filling the air with God's gift of music and reminding them of the divine Musician who created all beauty. Amen.
Cruciform Bead:
God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1
Week Beads:
Psalm 46:2-8a
1st: Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,
2nd: though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.
3rd: There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells.
4th: God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day.
5th: Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall; he lifts his voice, the earth melts.
6th: The LORD Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.
7th: Come and see the works of the LORD
Exit Cross:
The LORD Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. -- Psalm 46:11
