Method:
On the Cross:
‘Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.’ But how are they to call on one in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in one of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone to proclaim him? And how are they to proclaim him unless they are sent? As it is written, ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!’ But not all have obeyed the good news; for Isaiah says, ‘Lord, who has believed our message?’ So faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes through the word of Christ. -- Romans 10:13-17
Invitatory Bead:
O God of the prophets, who opened the eyes of your servant Dominic to perceive a famine of hearing the word of the Lord, and moved him, and those he drew about him, to satisfy that hunger with sound preaching and fervent devotion: Make your Church, dear Lord, in this and every age, attentive to the hungers of the world, and quick to respond in love to those who are perishing; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.
Cruciform Bead:
O sing to the LORD a new song; sing to the LORD, all the earth. -- Psalm 96:1
Week Beads:
Psalm 96:2-7, 9
1st: Sing to the LORD, bless his name; tell of his salvation from day to day.
2nd: Declare his glory among the nations, his marvellous works among all the peoples.
3rd: For great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; he is to be revered above all gods.
4th: For all the gods of the peoples are idols, but the LORD made the heavens.
5th: Honour and majesty are before him; strength and beauty are in his sanctuary.
6th: Ascribe to the LORD, O families of the peoples, ascribe to the LORD glory and strength.
7th: Worship the LORD in holy splendour; tremble before him, all the earth.
Exit Cross:
Then Jesus answered them, ‘My teaching is not mine but his who sent me. Anyone who resolves to do the will of God will know whether the teaching is from God or whether I am speaking on my own. Those who speak on their own seek their own glory; but the one who seeks the glory of him who sent him is true, and there is nothing false in him. -- John 7:16-18
